Water Service Line Inventory Survey

The Town of Oakland, in collaboration with Garrett County, is calling on all residents to assist in a crucial inventory of all water service line pipes connected to the public water system. This effort is essential to identify and replace any lead pipes, enhancing the safety and quality of our community's drinking water.

Why Your Participation Matters

Completing this inventory will enable the Town to apply for necessary funding to replace hazardous lead lines, should they be identified. This proactive measure is vital to ensure the continued health and safety of all residents in Oakland and is a requirement of Federal and State government.

How to Participate

  1. Inspect Your Home: Check for lead pipes in your home. Instructions for identifying pipe material, including lead, are available on our survey page.

  2. Complete the Survey: Visit our website and fill out the online survey. Tell us about the types of pipes you find in your home, regardless of the material.
