Municipal Election to be Held March 10, 2025 from 9am - 6pm
On Monday, March 10, 2025, the Town of Oakland will hold a municipal election to elect 3 Council Members to serve a two-year term. Voting will take place at Town Hall, 15 South Third Street, Oakland, Maryland 21550 from 9am - 6pm.
Terms expire for current council members Jay Moyer, Dave Beard, and Fred Gregg.
Persons aged 21 and over who have resided within the Oakland corporate limits for six months are eligible to run for office. Interested candidates should stop by Oakland City Hall to file the necessary paperwork and pay the $2.50 filing fee. The last day to file for candidacy is Monday, February 24, 2025 at 4:00pm.
The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 4:00pm. The Town of Oakland maintains a separate register of voters, however, if you have registered at the Board of Elections after January 1, 1990, and are a resident of the municipal boundaries of Oakland, you are automatically qualified to vote in the Oakland Municipal Election.
